For many of us, the tabletop is a special place for adventure and fellowship. It’s where stories are born and memories are made. What if that same creative energy could be used to explore the greatest story ever told?

Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Lightwork Games, a new tabletop game company with a simple but powerful calling: Design. Gather. Play with Purpose.

Our mission is to craft tools that empower players to build relationships, disciple one another, and joyfully share the Good News through the universal language of games.

This journey is a personal one for me, founder Matthew Penna. It began with a lifelong passion for games, from broken-down childhood board games to designing games in supermarket parking lots with my daughter, co-found Samarah. After years of playtesting in the industry, my faith called me to a new purpose: to design a game where Christ was the fulcrum of the entire experience.

Lightwork Games is the culmination of that journey uniting family, faith, and a deep love for creating games that build community.

Answer the Call with BORN: A Christian Roleplaying Game

Our flagship project is BORN: A Christian Roleplaying Game, a tabletop journey of faith, trial, and testimony.

In BORN, you don’t just play a hero; you become a Witness, a character called to a greater purpose. You will:

• Create a unique character with one of five divine Callings, like the justice-seeking Judge or the visionary Prophet.
• Wield scripture-inspired abilities called Keystones to overcome challenges of mind, body, and spirit.
• Engage with a story that tests the characters’ faith through temptation, spiritual opposition, and human conflict.
• Collaborate with friends to tell a powerful story of struggle, redemption, and the transformative power of the Gospel.

This is more than a game; it’s an opportunity for fellowship, rooted in the promise, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:20 NLT
